Information

For my shortened story, I had a conversation with my roommate, asking the question "What is a major argument or debate that you have had with your friends," Hoping to discover what the debate was about, the points he made to push his agenda, and if opinion was altered by the end of the conversation.

Process

After picking a place with little noise intervention, I sat down with my roommate Bryan to ask him the question, "what is a major argument or debate that you have had with your friends?" After he answered this initial question, I asked him two follow up questions in order to keep the conversation rolling. I asked, "What points did you use to get your message across," a few other questions adding to his answers, and the final question "Was a conclusion about the topic reached?" After collecting his answers, a lot of editing had to be done. I cut out a lot of pauses, mistakes, unimportant sentences, and other unwanted sections. The final product was cut from 4:39 to 1:29.

Next Time...

Text time doing a podcast like this, I will hopefully improve the recording quality, the editing, the transitions, and the moments of reflection. There is a lot of room for improvement in my work and I look forward to practicing these techniques and becoming better at them.
